The Brancacci Chapel

http://www.capriweb.com/Firenze/Brancacci
This site is all about the Brancacci chapel, Santa Maria del Carmine. This site doesn't have many words, but pictures. The wall of the Chapel is painted by three artists, Masolino da Panicale, Masaccio and Filippino Lippi. started first at the Gothic style that Masolino did, through the Humanism by Masaccio and up to the Renaissance elegance by Filippino.

Tribute Money

==================
The piant is a fresco. I choose this picture. I think the scenery at back is beautiful. Not like before the painting is not like real. Masaccio's use of light was also very new. While earlier artists like Giotto had theoretical a flat, neutral light from an not identifiable beginning, Masaccio's light show out from a very special location outside the picture, casting the figures at the light and the shadow.

St. Peter Healing the Sick with His Shadow

==================
This painting painted by Masaccio. I like the wall in the picture. It has a special feel on the wall. Some people says the man at the right might be the painter himself. and the the man with a beard in a red cap in probably Masolino.
