The Brancacci Chapel

http://www.capriweb.com/Firenze/Brancacci
This site is all about the Brancacci chapel, Santa Maria del Carmine. This site doesn't have many words, but pictures. The wall of the Chapel is painted by three artists, Masolino da Panicale, Masaccio and Filippino Lippi. started first at the Gothic style that Masolino did, through the Humanism by Masaccio and up to the Renaissance elegance by Filippino.

Tribute Money
by Masaccio
at 1420s
==================
The piant is a fresco. I choose this picture. I think the scenery at back is beautiful. Not like before the painting is not like real. Masaccio's use of light was also very new. While earlier artists like Giotto had theoretical a flat, neutral light from an not identifiable beginning, Masaccio's light show out from a very special location outside the picture, casting the figures at the light and the shadow.

St. Peter Healing the Sick with His Shadow
by Masaccio
at 1426-27
==================
This painting painted by Masaccio. I like the wall in the picture. It has a special feel on the wall. Some people says the man at the right might be the painter himself. and the the man with a beard in a red cap in probably Masolino.

Once, in a very famous karaoke bar, every stateroom had its own lavatory and two doors. A door to go out of and another, the door to the lavatory. The lavatory was located in the corner, which was opposite to the door to go out. The wall in the room were red.
The lighting was not very bright. It didn't have alot of furnitue, very spacious. It was dim in the corner with no light. There were five sofas. There were two doors beside the television. The event happened in one of the stateroom. ON that night, a group of young people came. There were twelve of them. They were dressed in T-dhirts. They were about twenty. There were classmates in junior high school, and they were having a reunionin the karaoke bar. The grounp of young people were singing songs very happily.
A waiter came into the stateroom. The waiter looked very young and had a smile. He asked"Did any one call for service?". And the grounp of people looked ate each other and said no. About thirty miuntes passed and the waiter came in with a straight faces again, but this time is a different waiter. He asked"Did anyone call for service?" the grounp of people stopped for a few seconds and looked at the waiter, because this time the waiter had came out of the lavatory door, not the exit. The grounp of people ran out from the bar very fast.

Mona Lisa
by LEONARDO di Vinci

Leonardo painted it at 1503~1506. The scienctist Vasari wrote that the woman in the painting is Francesco del Gioconda's wife, Madonna Elisabetta. But it made many questions. Some one says maybe the painting is his self! The special is the woman doesn't have the brows. Many people think there is a secret under the smile. This painting is collect in the Musee du Louvre.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This painting called "Joachim and the Beggars", it painted by Andrea di Bartolo. I choose it because it seems happyness. Even though the things in the painting's scale aren't correct, the house looks like a paper, but I still likes it. He painted it about in 1400.
I choose this painting called "Madonna and Child Enthroned", painted by Gentile da Fabriano. The Virgin Mary holding the jesus. Its colors are rich. looks very shine
and have gold surfaces are typical of International style's decorative.
Renaissance
This pieces is "St. George Fighting the Dragon", by Raffaello Sanzio. I choose it because Raffaello painted it ilke a real fighting. George loose the halter and raise his sword want to give the dragon last attack. Raffaello Sanzio shows the fighting and the monement reality, amply. Raffaello Sanzio also has painted another "George Fighting the Dragon".
This pieces is "Pieta", by Michelangelo. I choose it because it has the human's lines and blood vessel on this pieces. The female deity is holding the Jesus. Michelangelo when he was sculpture person, he was look at the point of view of a person. And the point of view often has some meaning. He thinks to sculpture is to liberate the people that imprisonin the stones.
